Cỏ Xuyến chi, còn có tên gọi khác là cúc mặt trời, tên khoa học là Wedelia trilobata, là cây trang trí nền, trồng thành thảm, cho hoa vàng, sức sống mạnh. Cây thuộc họ thực vật Cúc ( Asteraceae ), có nguồn gốc xuất xứ từ Tây Ấn, châu Mỹ. Hiện nay được phân bố nhiều ở Việt Nam.

Cỏ xuyến chi : Cây thân thảo bò, leo, trườn, sống nhiều năm. Lá đơn mọc đối, mép răng cưa dạng thuôn bầu dục nhọn đầu. Được bao phủ bởi lớp lông nhám.

Cụm hoa hình đầu, mọc ra từ nách lá, mang hoa không đều ở vòng ngoài, hoa đều ở vòng trong. Lá bắc tổng bao dạng thuôn bầu dục. Hoa không đều có cánh môi lớn màu vàng tươi chia 3 thùy không đều, hoa vòng trong đều, màu vàng. Quả bế có cánh.

Cây có tốc độ sinh trưởng nhanh.

Cây ưa ánh sáng hoặc chịu bóng bán phần, ưa khí hậu khô thoáng, nhiều nắng, nhu cầu nước thấp.

Nhân giống từ các đoạn thân cành.

Chăm sóc cỏ xuyến chi :

Luôn tạo độ ẩm trong đất, độ dày của đất ít nhất là 3cm. Khai thông khi mưa nhiều, không để cỏ bị úng quá 24 giờ. Mỗi tháng cần bón 2kg DAP/100m². Nếu thấy cỏ xanh đậm quá thì thay DAP bằng NPK (16-16-8). Nếu cỏ chưa được mướt nên bón thêm một kg bánh dầu/100m². Vài năm sau cần bón thêm phân hữu cơ và vi sinh nhiều ít tùy thực tế thảm cỏ. Làm sạch cỏ dại xâm hại cỏ chỉ nhật. Làm đẹp: trung bình 50 - 60 ngày, cắt cỏ một lần.
